Got home last night after a whirlwind trip to Ann Arbor where I did a Picturebook Workshop for a full house at the Ann Arbor District Library and viewed the Ghost Army Exhibit at the Univ. of Mich. Along the way I met a whole lot of great people and was introduced to a wonderful little corner of the world. Special thanks to Ieva Bates, the Extraordinary Youth Services Librarian at Ann Arbor Library, and everyone else at the library who made it happen, including Nicola of Nicola's Books. Hugs to the Magical Mary Spence who connected the dots and pulled all the strings! It was also so nice to meet Karen Jordan, the Wizard behind the Hatcher Library's exhibits and Ruta from Border's. It was a fun outing, and it is SO very nice to be home!
, among others, has asked me to teach his class "The History of Animation" at Mercy College while he recovers from an operation. Luckily all the little creatures are still running around in his head, but the class will be challenging for me. Last night I watched Willie the Whale and a few Daffy Ducks to get up to speed. Its very exciting that an animator just won the Pulitzer Prize:
