Stories in the Stars


These are two from of a series of illustrations I did for National Geographic about stories ancient people told about the constellations. Just a few stars would become dragons eating the sun, scorpions chasing Orion, bears chased by hunters or hounds chasing Lepus the rabbit. Perhaps its the city lights that keep us from seeing those stories in the night sky, or maybe its this flickering screen distracting us and muddling our imagination...
